Supporting Colorado cancer patients with dignity and humanity since 2002.
Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation was founded in 2002 after Dr. Schrier met a courageous 17-year-old named Raymond Wentz, who was battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma while struggling to afford life’s basics. Despite facing homelessness and financial hardship, Ray met every challenge with strength and optimism. When his sister told Dr. Schrier, “The only thing we have to worry about is food,” those words revealed a devastating truth—too many patients were forced to choose between treatment and necessities.
Inspired by Ray’s resilience, Dr. Schrier founded the Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation to ensure no Colorado cancer patient would have to face that burden alone. Since then, Ray of Hope has supported more than 11,000 Colorado cancer patients with over 7 million dollars in financial support.
